Supporting Special Children and their Relatives and Friends
Saturday Multi-Sports Sessions

yBall – April/May 2019

We are excited to introduce a new sport to our Saturday morning Multi Sports
sessions in April/May 2019 – there will be a 5 week block of yBall, with myself Vince Golden

as our coach . It’s a catch and pivot, non-contact sport played with a soft nerf
ball, played with music in the background – a very inclusive sport, incorporating
agility, balance and coordination, and lots of fun too! Sessions are at Ashely Junior School.

This club is for children with additional needs from 7 to 19 years. Parents do not
need to stay with their child as support workers and volunteers will help the children.

Scarf New Forest Logo

Scarf (Supporting special Children and their Relatives and Friends) is a charity based in the New Forest, Hampshire which organise regular term time clubs, social and holiday activities for children with special needs and their families.  Children are aged 0 -25 and have a range of disabilities and special needs, such as Down’s Syndrome, autism and cerebral palsy.

There approach is not just to meet the needs of the disabled child, but also to recognise the impact on the whole family, all of whom need fun and support.

The aim to create an inclusive and welcoming environment in which disabled children and their siblings feel comfortable and able to participate in a wide range of activities, and where adults and carers can enjoy meeting others in similar situations to themselves.

Our term-time clubs include a Drama Club, a Youth Club and a Saturday morning Multi Sports Club.  During the school holidays we run a programme of activities for children with special needs as well as their siblings to take part in (with parents/carers staying for holiday activities).
Scarf is a parent-led charity.

Through the support of EnergiseMe, yBall will be running session throughout the year.

yBall  a fun based, catch and pivot, non-impact sport played to music.

A blend of American football & Netball.
We  feel  it  can  make  a  difference  at  all  level with  our  all-inclusive gender/ ages style  of  game-play,
a  local  and  fresh  twist  to  the  sporting  norm.

As seen on TV, Played by the England Rugby & Football team in there training sessions.

And once again the England Rugby team are off to a flying start.

yBall is great for hand to eye skills, speed, plus movement within any game.

The first taster session,
