The two day event was part of the BU Relays delivery team, with various team building games and exercises, tours of the Uni, with some mini lectures one being politics.

Tomorrow well see yBall attend the sports day at St Peters school. St Catherine’s road.

About st Peter’s

St Peter’s is a Catholic school with a strong Christian ethos which underpins all we do. We are also an Academy, jointly sponsored by the Catholic Diocese of Portsmouth and the De La Salle Order – an international organisation which has been running schools for over 300 years. The School was awarded Specialist Arts College status in 2000 and Sports as a second Specialism in 2005. It is run under the trusteeship of a Catholic Teaching Order, the De La Salle Brothers, and the Catholic Diocese of Portsmouth.

The school consists of two sites, currently Primary (two form entry that opened in 2014, which will grow with a new year group each September) and Years 7 and 8 are accommodated at Iford and Years 9 to 13 at Southbourne. It is a school with a tradition of success, oversubscribed every year and benefitting from a deservedly positive reputation in the local community. Relationships with families are affirming and constructive, with parents and carers keen to support the school and the child’s learning.

The School is committed to excellence throughout all its activities, enabling all individuals to achieve their potential. It strives to educate the whole person academically, socially, spiritually, morally and physically. The School seeks to fulfill this commitment through a curriculum based on Christian principles and centered on the needs and aspirations of its pupils.

yBall is very proud to be part of the working relationship to instill core values at the early parts of these young peoples lives.

Over the next few day’s the yball team will be hoisting games at the Bournemouth University in conjunction with NCS plus other yball games this summer.

The National Citizen Service.

(NCS) is an excellent government scheme created for all 15-17 year olds. Courses take place in the spring, autumn and summer half-terms, offering meaningful activities during these times without impacting on educational timetables

At NCS courses are designed to challenge you and to get you to step out of your comfort zone – so we will encourage you to take part in as many of the activities as possible. However, they wont make you do anything that you don’t want to – so if you really dont want to take part in an activity, then we won’t make you.

Attend for the whole course, graduate and have fun – that’s all that we ask of you!

National Citizen Service (NCS) is open to all 16 and 17-year-olds in England.

It helps you build your skills for work and life, while you take on new challenges and meet new friends.

It runs in the spring, summer and autumn. they’ll have a short time away from home and take part in a team project that will help your community.

NCS brings together young people from different backgrounds and helps them develop greater confidence, self-awareness and responsibility. It encourages personal and social development by working on skills like leadership, teamwork and communication.

Participants develop a social action project to deal with a local issue they’re passionate about, and spend 30 hours putting the project into action in their community.

The yBall game covers:

self-awareness and responsibility

leadership, teamwork and communication.

personal and social development

All of which is wrapped around a high tempo sports game, played to music, Deephouse, grime, Hiphop, or any music you wish to upload to our spotify on the website.
